Our Story
1971
Where It All Began
At 17, I spent long hours sewing in a small textile mill in North Carolina. That's where Thomas, my first love, gave me a simple copper bracelet, a tradition in his family, to help ease the fatigue in my hands.
1976
A Gift for a Lifetime
Years later, Thomas became my husband. That bracelet became one of my most treasured keepsakes, and I still keep it close to this day.
1984
At the Kitchen Table
Inspired by that gift, I learned to work with copper and started making my own jewelry at the kitchen table. The hobby grew into a passion: one piece at a time, with traditional techniques and a lot of love.

Where We Are Today
Today, at 72 and with Thomas still by my side, we're finally retiring and closing Clara's Copper. This final collection brings together the designs closest to my heart from more than 40 years of making copper jewelry. It's my way of thanking everyone who has been part of our journey. Once the last pieces are sold, our doors will close for good.

How long does shipping take?
Every piece is finished and packed by hand, so orders leave our studio within 1–3 business days. Estimated delivery times for your address are shown at checkout, and a tracking link is emailed to you as soon as your order ships.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes. Standard shipping is free on all orders within the United States.
How can I track my order?
Use the tracking link in your shipping confirmation email, or visit our Track Your Order page. If something looks off, contact us and we will look into it right away.
What is your 30-day guarantee?
If you are not happy with your piece, contact us within 30 days of delivery and we will arrange a return or exchange. Items should be unused and in their original packaging. Full details are in our Refund Policy.
How do I start a return or exchange?
Send us a message through our Contact page with your order number and the item you would like to return or exchange. We will reply with the next steps.
Can I exchange for a different size?
Of course. Size exchanges are accepted within 30 days of delivery, as long as the piece is unused.
Why does my copper get darker over time?
That is copper being copper. Pure copper reacts with air, moisture and skin oils and slowly develops a warm, darker patina. Many people love this aged look. If you prefer the original shine, it can always be polished back.
How do I clean my copper jewelry?
Mix a little lemon juice (or white vinegar) with a pinch of salt, rub it gently over the piece with a soft cloth, then rinse with water and dry completely. A copper polishing cloth also works well for quick touch-ups. See our full Copper Care guide.
Why can copper leave a green mark on skin?
Sweat, lotions and humidity can react with copper and leave a faint green tint on the skin. It is a normal reaction of the metal and washes off with soap and water. Keeping the piece dry and wiping it after wearing helps reduce it.
Is your jewelry really pure copper?
Yes. Our pieces are made from 99.9% pure, solid copper — not copper-plated, and not sealed with a lacquer coating that can peel.
